It feels as though we are finally seeing the move away from the pandemic as we learn to live with COVID and it becomes endemic. This month has seen the end of COVID test requirements for vaccinated travellers entering the UK. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated will no longer have to self-isolate on arrival, or take a test on day eight. However, they will still have to show proof of a negative Covid test taken within 48 hours of travel, and they must still take a post-arrival PCR test (Day 2 test). All passengers will still need to fill in a passenger locator form.
If you arrive in England from abroad after 4am Friday 18 March, you do not need to:
- take any COVID-19 tests – before you travel or after you arrive
- fill in a UK passenger locator form before you travel
This will apply whether you are vaccinated or not. You will also not need to quarantine when you arrive, in line with current rules.
We are seeing most countries reducing or removing restrictions on travel but this is changing all the time. Please check for entry requirements of any countries you visit. These can change suddenly.
If you arrive in England before 4am 18 March 2022, you must follow the current rules as below.
Fully vaccinated, in the UK, is defined as having had both doses of a 2-dose vaccine or one dose of a one-dose vaccine. The last vaccine needs to have been at least 14 days prior to the date of travel. Currently, you do not need to have had a booster to be considered fully vaccinated in the UK. However, there are a number of countries who have changed their definition of fully vaccinated to require a booster vaccine if the main course of vaccination was more than 9 months from the date of travel.
We are an approved private provider of COVID-19 testing for all testing and have had full UKAS accreditation since June 2021. We can support our members with any queries re: COVID testing as well as vaccination questions, whether you had your vaccines in the UK or overseas.

Our private doctors are readily contactable for home visits, remote consultations, advice and support. We have a strong network of secondary care and allied health professionals who complement our general practice services and whom we can readily access. All our private doctors are full time employees of Concierge Medical. They are all experienced GPs and have chosen to work as Concierge doctors as they understand and value the benefits of a strong patient-doctor relationship.
