Some Frequently Asked Questions from clients.

We realise that continuity of care is so important to our clients, and for safe, effective medicine. When you register with us you will have a named doctor that takes responsibility for most of your medical care, and will always be your point of contact. Of course there will be times they are unavailable, or you may wish to see a different doctor for a particular issue – you can feel reassured that the rest of our team will always have knowledge of you health, have access to your records, and share in our Practice ethos.

No. All of our doctors are experienced local GPs, that have been individually recruited and selected by ourselves. In addition to having exceptional relevant medical experience, all our physicians have further comprehensive in-house training with Concierge Medical. By making our practice a rewarding and enjoyable place to work for doctors, we are in the enviable position of not needing to turn to recruitment agencies.

We are happy to take members of any age, from infants to centenarians. We recognise that various age groups may use the service differently, but all ages are welcome to join our practice if we have membership places available at the time.

Absolutely not. We are happy for clients to join our service, whatever your pre-existing health problems. If those health issues are likely to require extensive input from us, we will design a bespoke package of membership to meet your current and emerging needs.

There is no long term contract commitment with just a three month minimum term. Membership is paid on an all inclusive monthly basis. Payments are by standing order or direct debit so you retain control over your payments at all times.

Most UK health insurers do not cover GP services directly, although certain policies will provide for some elements of our care, such as annual health screens – it’s always worth checking with your provider. Any further tests or onward referrals to specialists managed through us will still be covered by your private insurance as usual.

Yes – we work with many major international insurers, including BUPA International, Cigna Global and AXA. We have developed an International Membership to ensure foreign nationals residing in the UK can utilise our services. Please call us to discuss the details.

Most definitely. The NHS Constitution is clear in that if you are entitled to NHS medical care, then you can share this with a private health provider such as ourselves. Many of our members do not have NHS GPs, although if you do, we would not ask you to de-register with your existing practice. Your ongoing repeat prescriptions need not be affected. However, we are happy to provide private prescriptions  as part of your membership, should you require them.

All your personal information and medical notes are maintained on secure computer systems that exceed the security expected on many NHS systems. We adhere to strict data protection rules and we will not share this information with any third parties without your express consent. If you agree that having access to your existing medical records would be useful in planning your care, we can contact your existing NHS or private GP to obtain these.

As an independent medical practice we do not routinely share your personal information with the NHS. There are occasions where sharing information is important in providing safe medical care, but we will ensure we have your consent beforehand.

We will always endeavour to treat you at home if it is safe to do so, and we will visit you repeatedly to achieve that. However, if hospitalisation is required, we will arrange admission to the most appropriate facility, whether that be a NHS or private hospital. We are happy to liaise with hospital teams to ensure early discharge back into our care.

Of course we can. We provide our services to a number of clients that has been arranged by relatives who aren’t local. We will always keep you informed of any issues that arise by phone or email.
