We are pleased to announce the addition of Women’s health services to be held in our private clinic in Wellesbourne. Starting from September, Concierge Medical we will be offering non-surgical treatment for female pelvic prolapse, coil fittings, and a more comprehensive and detailed approach to cervical health screening. These services are designed to provide flexibility, greater-choice and peace of mind through personalised care and enhanced screening.

Advanced Cervical Health Screening

The NHS cervical screening programme primarily focuses on detecting high-risk strains of HPV (Human Papillomavirus), the virus responsible for approximately 95% of cervical cancers. If high-risk HPV is detected, further screening is carried out to check for abnormal cells on the cervix, which could potentially lead to cancer.

The standard NHS approach comes with its limitations, routine cell inspection is not part of the initial screening process, meaning that cancers not associated with high-risk HPV strains, or those caused by other types of HPV or non-viral factors, may go undetected. This can lead to diagnosis and treatment delay for less common forms of cervical cancer.

The cervical screening service offered by Concierge Medical is available to those over 18. It not only includes the standard HPV testing but also incorporates Liquid Based Cytology (LBC) as a routine part of the screening process.

LBC involves a detailed examination of the physical cells from the cervix, allowing us to identify any abnormalities that might not be detected through HPV testing alone. This dual approach provides a more thorough assessment of your cervical health, helping to catch potential issues earlier and with greater accuracy.

The combination of HPV testing and Liquid Based Cytology offers a more comprehensive picture of your cervical health. The results from these tests can then, more precisely, be used to guide any necessary onward referrals for treatment, or determine the timing of future screenings, ensuring that you receive the best possible care.

Coil Fitting Service
Our private GP service offers a comprehensive coil fitting service, providing a discreet, convenient and personalised approach to long-term contraception, or hormonal health management. We can fit both hormonal (IUDs such as Mirena) and non-hormonal (copper) coils, ensuring the most suitable option based on needs and preferences. We prioritise comfort, and informed decision-making, offering a thorough consultation in our private clinic before the procedure to discuss all aspects of the fitting and answer any questions.

Treatment for Female Pelvic Prolapse

If you have a pelvic organ prolapse that is interfering with your day to day life you may already use, or want to consider a vaginal pessary. A vaginal pessary is a device made of rubber (latex) or silicone and is inserted into the vagina and left in place to support the vaginal walls and pelvic organs. They can be used to ease the symptoms of moderate or severe prolapses (such as stress incontinence or an internal feeling of heaviness around the vagina) and are a good option if you cannot or would prefer not to have surgery. We can now offer this non-surgical treatment from our clinic based in Wellesbourne.
