Dr Al Ahmed is an experienced and widely respected GP with over 25 years of clinical practice across Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and beyond.
He was born in Bath and grew up in the West Country, before training at King’s College London and embarking on a varied and rewarding career in medicine.
His breadth of experience spans general practice, paediatrics, psychiatry, emergency care, and expedition medicine — having cared for patients everywhere from local GP surgeries to film sets in the Moroccan desert.
Al is known for his calm, compassionate approach and his ability to connect meaningfully with patients of all ages. His clinical interests include cardiovascular risk, musculoskeletal medicine, mental health in primary care, and the use of dermoscopy for skin lesion assessment. He is also skilled in vertigo management and is committed to holistic, proactive healthcare that prioritises continuity and trust.
A former GP partner, trainer and medical educator, Dr Al values the importance of listening, learning, and delivering medicine that is both clinically robust and deeply personal.
Outside of medicine, Al is a passionate music lover with a broad and eclectic taste — something he believes keeps him grounded and balanced. He’s also an avid traveller, keen cook, and a fan of long walks in the great outdoors.
He is currently based in West Oxfordshire and offers home visiting care to members across the region as part of the Concierge Medical team.
