The Proclarix blood test starts with the well established PSA test. However the problem with the PSA alone is that this can lead to a ‘diagnostic grey zone’ for levels that are marginally raised. This can lead to either a missed early cancer, or uncomfortable biopsies that are not needed in the first place. If your PSA lies in this grey area then special prostate protein biomarkers are also examined using the highest levels of lab technology. This gives much more accurate information to suggest if prostate cancer is present or not and what the next steps should be.
